Stand Alone Dies, Stamping With Friends Blog Hop

The theme for this week's hop is Stand Alone Dies, these are the general die sets, not attached to any particular stamp set. My favourite by a country mile is the Stylish Shapes die set, I find I am using them all the time.

Stylish Shapes Dies from Stampin' Up!

As I wondered through Pinterest, as you do I found this fold back card, I couldn't find who had originally thought of it because there were so many examples so here is my take on it.

Metric Measurements and instructions

Starry Sky A6 card base, cut a piece 14.85cm by 21cm then score from the long side at 10.5cm. plus extra for die cutting

Fresh Freesia 14.4cm by 10cm

Basic White for sentiment

Tea Boutique DSP, Cut the 6" by 6" paper so it is 13.9cm high, watch for directional designs!! With the cups facing you and the right way up, score vertically at 9.5cm, Then with the DSP the same way up on the left hand side mark the middle then, mark 2.5cm above and 2.5cm below it. Then cut from the top right hand corner to the top left mark and cut from the bottom right hand corner to the bottom mark If you're not sure watch the video!! Fold the left hand side over at the score line and attach the flap with dimensionals. The stamp and die cut the sentiment piece with the Stylish Shapes dies and finish the card as shown.


Imperial Measurments and Instructions

Starry Sky A2 card base, cut a piece 5.5" by 8.5" score from the long side at 4.25", plus extra for die cutting

Fresh Freesia 5.25" by 4"

Basic White for sentiment

Tea Boutique DSP, Cut the 6" by 6" paper so it is 5" high, watch for directional designs!! With the cups facing you and the right way up, score vertically at 3.75", Then with the DSP the same way up on the left hand side mark the middle then, mark 1" above and 1" below it. Then cut from the top right hand corner to the top left mark and cut from the bottom right hand corner to the bottom mark If you're not sure watch the video!! Fold the left hand side over at the score line and attach the flap with dimensionals. The stamp and die cut the sentiment piece with the Stylish Shapes dies and finish the card as shown.
